Zora's Domain and Divine Beast Vah Ruta
Zora's Domain is home to Divine Beast Vah Ruta, the elephant Divine Beast, who is currently making endless rain fall down onto Zora's Domain. Zora's Domain is, in my opinion, one of the easiest Divine Beast village in the game. The path to get to Zora's Domain is very simple and when you are near any path that can lead up to Zora's Domain there is a Zora that will tell you to go to Zora's Domain. The only inconvenience you will get on the way to Zora's Domain is the enemies that are camped out on the pathway. If the player chooses another path to Zora's Domain then their will be no inconvenience there, other than the fact that it is in the middle of a lake.
The main quest in Zora's Domain is pretty straight forward and there is no need to buy anything from Zora's Domain. This is because the main piece of armor that is needed to do Divine Beast Vah Ruta is given to the player from one of the NPC's. The only challenging thing to do concerning the main quest in Zora's Domain is collecting Shock Arrows from the top of a mountain. This is hard because the area that the Shock Arrows are in is patrolled by a Lynel, the second or first hardest non-boss enemy in the game.
Normally the player is too weak to fight the Lynel head on so the area is meant to be sneaking around. After getting 20 Shock Arrows scattered around where the Lynel is, the player then can start "attacking" the Divine Beast. The player doesn't really attack the Divine Beast to kill it, rather you attack it to power it down for a shot while so you can get inside of it. To get inside of Divine Beast Vah Ruta, the player rides on-top of a Zora, sort of like surfing, breaking ice with Cryosis. As soon as the player is near a waterfall you can go up it and shoot one of four points with your Shock Arrows. As soon as all four are taken care of, a cut-scene happens which shows you boarding the Divine Beast.
If Shrines were considered mini-dungeons then, Divine Beasts are dungeons in comparison. In each and every Divine Beast, there are five main control units, each needing to be activated. In addition to the control units there is the Main Control Unit, and the map of the Divine Beast. the first step and easiest in any Divine Beast is getting the map for it. The map can control one part of the Divine Beast; for Vah Ruta, it is her trunk. The map shows you where all of the control units are found and afterwards shows where the Main Control Unit is found. Vah Ruta's main puzzle component is water and is used in the access of some control units.
After getting all of the control units activated, the player has to head to the Main Control Unit and activate it to start the boss. The boss is Waterblight Ganon who's main weapon is a spear he can throw or use to sweep across. His second weapon is using spiked ice spheres to damage the player. After reaching half health the once walk-able floor is now flooded with only four pillars to be able to stand on. This limits the mobility of the player and makes it much harder to do much of anything. Upon defeating Waterblight Ganon Mipha's spirit, the Zora Champion, is freed. With you freeing her spirit from Waterblight Ganon's grasp Vah Ruta will help the player when they finally decide to fight Calamity Ganon. Along with the help on Calamity Ganon, Mipha will offer you her healing abilities which will revive you upon death with full health and extra bonus hearts.
