Side Quests and Korok Seeds

Image
There will be a point in the game when you have nothing left to do because you have done all the shrines and defeated Calamity Ganon. Well like most games, there are side quests! There is a total of 76 side quests from just getting the game. The DLC (Downloadable Content) adds a lot more side quests. These quests are optional, hence why they are called side quests. Even though side quests are in fact optional, early game they can be a source of Rupees, the game currency. These side quests can be found anywhere in the game; to the top of the tallest mountain, and to the bottom of the deepest gorge. Finding all of the side quests can be a annoying at first but the majority of the side quests are at villages or at stables, with a few scattered here and there. There are three main things that a side quests will make you do: collect something for them, kill something for them, or complete a task for them. There may be a few exceptions but most side quests are about that. Once you have com...

Shrines

Image
Shrines in Breath of the Wild is one of the most important things that the player can do in terms of getting stronger. Of course there are other ways to get stronger: like upgrading armor or getting better weapons. Shrines do one of two things once you completed 4 of them; increasing max hearts by one or increasing max stamina by 1/5 of a wheel. Of  course Shrines will be where you will be spending most of your time early on finding the locations of due to the fact that there are 120 total Shrines. Shrines are scattered across the world which the player then has to find and activate them to unlock the fast travel to it. Some shrines also require some special thingy to be done to find the Shrine. These special task are considered Shrine Quests which can do many a things to get the shrine to appear. From arranging certain things in order, to having a rock struck by lightning, or even shooting through something can complete the Shrine Quest and get the Shrine. Most Shines have a...

The Sheikah Slate

Image
The Sheikah Slate is one of Link's, and the players, best tool and can possibly be a decent weapon when all else fails. This doesn't mean that Link will go up to enemies and whack them with his Sheikah Slate as funny as that would be, but in the use of Runes as stated in last blog post. Although runes is one of the most useful aspects of the Sheikah Slate when the player is fighting enemies or in shrines, the Sheikah Slate has many more uses. One use is to see the map, which can be very important. On the map, the player is able to place stickers to mark locations that they may want to visit later in life. The player can also place beacons which will show up on the miniature mini-map in game which can help the player get to a place without stopping to check their map every two seconds. The Sheikah Slate also acts as the player's inventory, storing all the items that Link can pick up. Weapons, Shields, and Bows all have a max amount of spots that can be filled up but can ...

The Great Plateau

Image
The Great Plateau is the area that the player first starts in, or better known as the tutorial area. The entire region of the Great Plateau is the tutorial and it is almost impossible to skip unless the player has done the task required to get off of it. The task required to pass the Great Plateau is by doing 4 different shrines or mini dungeons. These shrines are scattered across the Great Plateau so that the player gets a very good understanding of most of the game mechanics. Each shrine adds runes to your Sheikah Slate. The Sheikah Slate is a device that Link, or the player, uses to access the mini-map, inventory, or see what quests they still have to do; it is also required to open shrines, but Link can't possibly lose the Sheikah Slate. These runes give Link "special abilities". These abilities include Magnesis, Remote Bombs, Stasis, and Cryosis. Later on, another rune can be added which is the camera and is required if you want to 100% the game. Magnesis is g...
